As completed on May 8th, I collaborated with teammates to format and style a course packet for Chad Newswander, a professor of political science at BYU-Idaho. We took an approximately 200-page outline and reformatted it to more closely resemble a textbook, with images, pull quotes, and better usage of white space. Some aspects I specifically worked on were teaching my teammates how to better use Word as the computer program versus the online version for a shared document, drawing and placing textboxes with the proper formatting along the margins and large blank spaces to highlight important quotes and details, and taking detailed notes from client and group meetings.
I prepared the notes for the class and client meetings by formatting the notes in advance and organizing the information. I taught the class how to define a new multilevel list and apply it to the document in each of our sections on Word. I worked with a teammate one on one to guide her through the same process after she expressed some concerns. I helped her format her section. I also created and placed textboxes with pull quotes after picking out important quotations, headings, and other relevant notes. I worked on the design aspect of the layout and formatting to make each page cohesive. I also established boundaries with teammates by communicating with a teammate that she needed to complete the work she had committed to completing because I could help, but I could not do the job for her.
Overall, this project was work-intensive but I completed it in an efficient timeframe, working thoroughly to make sure each detail matched what it needed to match.
